Clinical Reformer Pilates:
At Performance Physio, Fitness & Sport we provide 1-on-1 clinical reformer pilates for injury rehabilitation, general well-being and sporting performance with our experienced physiotherapist Cassie.
Clinical Reformer pilates helps to develop muscle strength and endurance, improve flexibility, balance and posture and improves the body’s ability to move efficiently during exercise and daily living activities. Reformer pilates based exercise can range from gentle, low impact exercise to very high level sports specific strengthening and motor control meaning it is an effective stand alone form of exercise or as part of a multi modal training program.
Pilates exercise commonly targets underused muscle groups and is an ideal form of exercise to address muscle imbalances common with every day activities and sports. It facilitates improved movement patterns which can enhance strength and fitness gains achieved through other sporting and fitness activities and reduces general aches and pains. For athletes,selectively targeting these muscle groups, building core strength and improving neuromuscular control (ie. mind-muscle connection) means improved performance and reduced injury risk associated with poor biomechanics. Following specific muscle activation and strengthening, exercises can be progressed into functional positions that mimic daily living or sporting tasks.
1:1 Initial clinical reformer pilates (1 hour) - $95
Our initial session includes an assessment of your posture and movement patterns as well as specific areas of pain/injury to allow us to gain an understanding of your body and its requirements to develop an individualised training program. We discuss your goals and activity requirements and tailor your exercise to you, to enable you to achieve your health and fitness goals.
1:1 Follow-up clinical reformer pilates sessions (45 min) - $80
These sessions allow you to continue working on your fitness, sports or injury rehabilitation under close supervision to ensure correct technique. Exercises are progressed or modified during these sessions to constantly allow for adaptation and progression.
