A musculoskeletal screening is performed with three aims:
1. Prevent injury
2. Enhance performance
3. Determine readiness for training
The screening assesses posture, flexibility, stability and asesses commonly injured areas in the athletes sport.
The information gathered in the screening leads to the develoment of an individualised Prehabilitation Program. This program includes stretching, self trigger pointing, self joint mobilisations, core stability exercises and other strengthening exercises. The idea being that the athelte has a program they can do regualrly that is specific to them and helps them maintain and improve their body.
We keep records of the screening so improvement can be monitored and exercises can be progressed when appropriate.
We communicate with any coaches or other medical staff involved with the athlete to ensure the best physical outcome for the athlete.
If the athlete is ready we can progress other aspects of their physical and athletic development.
